What are PTA committees?

Parent Teacher Associations rely on the hard work and dedication of parents, teachers, and staff to deliver on the promises of their programs. The Jefferson PTA is no different. We use a committee structure to create space for members and volunteers to focus and do great work in specific areas. All of our committees are led by a chairperson.

What does a Chairperson do?

The chairperson participates in and oversees all the work their committee does. They are appointed to a one year term by the Executive Committee and are voting members of the Board of Directors. Committee chairs give report on the PTA work moving through their committee at membership meetings.

Our Committees

For the 2023 - 2024 school year we are introducing lots of new committees. Some of these committees and their programs are new to our organization and don't currently have chairpersons. In these cases, the Board of Directors is taking on that work until a chairperson is found. That could be you! Click on any our committees below to learn more about their scope of work.
